Freedom of the Seas — Royal Caribbean’s most innovative ship yet — is set to launch in June 2006. Royal Caribbean isn’t revealing all of the spectacular features of their new ship, but you can some new surprises in addition to twists on favorites like the rock-climbing wall and Royal Promenade.

The first new-to-the-industry feature is a wave machine you can actually surf called the Flowrider, located on the upper deck. Freedom of the Seas will also have 3 pool “regions” while Royal Caribbean’s largest ships to date have had only 2. The largest and certainly most likely to be a hit with the kids is the H2O zone, an onboard water park. Water spraying multi-colored sculptures, loops and tunnels will keep the family having fun all day. At night, a spectacular lighting system will make it beautiful and entertaining.

Freedom of the Seas will also have a sports pool for, water polo, water basketball and water volleyball, plus lap swimming. The solarium pool, always a favorite, will make water fun possible in any kind of weather.

Royal Caribbean is building a wider variety of family friendly cabins, with alcoves with bunk beds for the kids, and some cabin layouts featuring a separate kids bathroom.

Royal Caribbean is not done revealing all the features of this new ship, so we will keep you posted as new information becomes available.
